About Mijuni Studio
Art-led books for curious minds — children and adults alike.
Mijuni Studio is a family-run creative studio based in the City of London, creating thoughtfully designed art and activity books inspired by real life, real emotions, and real creative practice.
Founded by Julia Skupny, a qualified art educator with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts (Art Education), A levels in Fine Art Photography and formal teacher training, the studio combines professional knowledge of creative development with over 30 years of experience as a jewellery photographer, graphic designer, web developer and videographer.
That background brings together two worlds:
- deep understanding of how children learn and express themselves
- refined visual sensitivity developed through decades of professional image-making
Every book is built on this foundation of artistic discipline and educational insight.
For Children
Mijuni Studio’s books for girls are inspired and tested by real children, then carefully refined using professional expertise in art and education.
They are designed to:
- encourage creativity and independent thinking
- support emotional awareness and self-expression
- help children name and understand their feelings
- provide calm, screen-free creative time
The aim is simple: to create bold, charming, age-appropriate spaces where girls can explore who they are — confidently and creatively.

For Adults
Alongside children’s books, Mijuni Studio develops art-based creative books for adults. These projects draw directly from professional photography and architectural inspiration.
The next release will be a colouring and shading book for adults based on original photographic studies of the Barbican Centre in London — transforming striking architectural forms into immersive, meditative creative experiences.
Through these books, the studio explores:
calm, focused creative practice
architectural detail
shadow and structure.
A Family-Run Studio
At its heart, Mijuni Studio is built around family. Inspired daily by two daughters, ideas are tested honestly and shaped collaboratively. This closeness keeps the children’s books authentic — while professional experience ensures they remain thoughtfully designed and carefully executed.
Whether for a child discovering her creativity or an adult seeking quiet artistic focus, Mijuni Studio creates intentional, art-led spaces for meaningful creative time.
